This morning we went to a local playgroup for kids of all ages. The woman who hosted the playgroup has 6 kids - the youngest was abandoned at the hospital shortly after being born. She visited to hold her, then brought her home, then adopted her. Seems that many of the local missionaries have 1 or 2 children that they've adopted since being here. I don't think we'll come home with #3 next week : ), but we never know exactly what God has in store for us in the future. 3 of Miriam's children are back in the states - one married, one post college and one in high school. At Christmas, they will all come home to Kenya to be together.
Later today the kids and I are hoping to get a chance to tour the Cure hospital and find ways to help out there. The kids aren't allowed to go with me to the Kijabe main hospital because of diseases, but Cure has more elective surgeries for kids with disabilities, cleft pallet and ortho issues - so disease is not as much of a concern.
Ooooohhhh, a new niece or nephew, I love it! Just kidding....sorta. ;D
ReplyDeleteLove Sophie's bib, by the way. It has been in California, Illinois, Iowa and now, Kenya!
